The Eagleman Stag

Story by

I used to get this weird feeling as I would watch hours tick by that my life was disappearing too quickly and worry that I didn’t have enough to show for it. This idea can either be inspiring or frustrating for a creative. When it comes to stop motion, especially when you make every single piece of your characters or set, I can imagine another perspective on time is seen.

It’s returning to childhood in a way, with the ability to create and build with your hands and your imagination where time seems to last forever. However, when Mikey Please filmaker/creator is faced with a thesis deadline, a very adult theme, it must seem that time races by with barely enough to finish each scene.

You can see that this film has me thinking a great deal and has impacted me beyond words can describe. Please take some time to watch The Eagleman Stag, the 2011 BAFTA award winning Royal College of Art thesis film by director/writer Mikey Please. The making of is completely astounding as well, so make time for that.
