After a new laptop purchase a few years ago, Julie Rais Ellis went shopping for a laptop bag. She wanted something versatile, functional and unique enough to reflect her character but she was sorely disappointed by what was on the market. Instead of joining the rest of the herd, Julie opted to channel her energy and craftsmanship into sewing her own bags from locally sourced materials. A few years and many many bags later, Rais Case was born in Cardiff by the Sea, California.
Julie enjoys the thrill of working with different materials. She is currently using fabric from Africa, Pendleton wool made in America, leather from the Pacific Northwest and repurposed coffee sacks that have traveled the world. In addition to laptop cases, Rais Case has expanded into offering straps, iPad cases, leather keychains, and clutches.
Rais Case Mission Statement:
“To make functional + versatile + quality bags and cases that protect our precious possessions.
To be earth friendly, always use local labor, and to find creative & meaningful ways to give back.”
